Blackberry launches its own social network

Struggling smartphone maker Blackberry tentative stepped into the world of feed-based social networking with the launch on Wednesday of its own social network, called BBM Channels.

The BBM Channels- a twitter- like service, allows users to follow people, celebrities, companies and other entities and receive updates and images from them, reports CrackBerry.com.

Subscribing to a Channel will let users join conversations with people who share their interests. Users can also create a BBM Channel profile and build a following of their own
    
The feature will be available to BBM iOS and Android apps in the coming months.
